Memorials
A grave memorial is a very personal choice, and one that can sometimes be a difficult decision for the deceased’s family or loved ones to make. The Beenak Cemetery Trustees understand this, and whilst we are considerate of individual’s needs and requests in relation to this, we have a responsibility to the cemetery to ensure all memorials not only fit the aesthetics of the cemetery, but also do not impinge on other gravesites, or provide issues in the future.
As a result, it is Beenak Cemetery's policy that PRIOR to the erection of any memorial, a plan is required to be submitted to the Secretary for approval by the cemetery trust.
Please see the attached document (download form from below) which provides some guidance about memorials. Also, please refer to our cemetery policy which you will find located under the "more" tab on our website.
Prices
Please note: prices increase on 1 July each year, in line with Department of Health requirements.
Please see the attached documents for current pricing.
Plots
Today, Beenak Cemetery is 140 years of age and contains over 400 designated plots, with some available land still undeveloped.
In addition, we also have the newly opened Ford-Gramlick Memorial Garden, designed specifically for the interment of cremated remains.
Although it has progressed a long way since its first inception, the cemetery still maintains its original mystique of being a quiet, peaceful locale nestled amongst a backdrop of Australian bush; an idyllic setting where one can hear the birds sing and watch the sun set amongst the trees.
Although engulfed in totally natural surroundings, Beenak Cemetery offers shelter from those cold, wintry elements, and also basic public conveniences.
If you are looking for that perfect spot where your loved one can be laid to rest amidst the total peace and tranquility of nature, please consider Beenak Cemetery. Equally, if you are doing your family history, and would like information about whether your loved one is resting at Beenak, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you - our Trustees are available to assist you with all your enquiries.
Please view our plot map which is attached. Please also note, this plot map is not to scale. All plots are the same size, in line with regulations.
